West Virginia History and Government

West Virginia, nicknamed "The Mountain State", is sometimes also called "the Switzerland of the United States". The state of West Virginia is the only state located entirely within the Appalachian Mountain range and all of West Virginia's geography is considered mountainous. West Virginia's mountains, forests and caverns attract tourists seeking outdoor recreation and adventures including mountain climbing, white water rafting, hiking, and biking.
