Minnesota State Guide

Located in the Midwestern U.S., Minnesota is known as the "Land of 10,000 Lakes." The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul (the state capital) are home to well over half of Minnesota's population, and are the economic, business, and industrial center of the state. Outside the Twin Cities lies Greater Minnesota, with its prairies, forests, and settled farmlands. And, of course, the legendary lakes that, according to legend, are actually the water-filled hoof prints of Paul Bunyan's big blue ox, Babe.
