Worst 9 day hospital experience ever! Not sure if we're spoiled out here in California with our health care or if this is just an extremely bad place to have loved ones at when sick. No sense of urgency and caught the staff in numerous lies when we asked questions. No one ever knew what was going on. Father in law diagnosed with pancreatic cancer......no one seemed to know what anyone was doing for him nor did they ever bother to ask. I realize this is no USC Norris but come on...... you really should take some lessons Mercy. Pain was NOT managed, no one made sure he ate, never had a case manager or social worker come meet with us. Surgeries, X-rays and procedures changed times and days every time they were scheduled. Awful awful awful. However......Krystal and Ashley on the 3rd floor for room 3252 were phenomenal. Treated us like we were the only family in there. The rest of the nursing staff should be retrained by them! Especially the ladies on the 4th floor intensive care. You should be ashamed.

Scheduling nightmare. Incompetent scheduling employees. No communication. I have a 10 o'clock appointment on Wednesday October 19th. If it doesn't go well, you will be seeing more....

I had to go to the emergency room while at a federal training in Springfueld. People were waiting 8+ hours in the waiting room. There was blood in the floor in the bathroom. I had an ultersound for possible DVT. I waited 4 1/2 hours for a 20 min ultersound. They asked me to take off my pants and didn't provide any gowns or sheets. People wait so much that they have a policy to walk around and check vitals every two hours. This is a poor functioning hospital. The staff explained they have a nurse shortage. I feel sad for the people of this town. I've been here 6 hours and I'm still in the waiting room and not placed in a room. There are no cleaning people going around trying to reduce disease.

This is absolutely the worst hospital I have ever been to.we took my dad that had just had knee surgery there because we thought he may have a blood clot. They were very unsympathetic to all of us. Didn't act like they cared about anyone. 4 hours later my dad was seen. I will never go again

The staff have to be the most unsympathetic, hateful I have ever spoken with. When calling to ask if they had information on financial assistance for a friend after she lost her daughter I was completely appualed with the nurses unprofessionalism. I asked for no patient information and was in fact clear I wanted not to reference the patient simply wanted hospital service information and was given a HIPPA schpeal. Then she stated I'm a night nurse I don't know that kind of stuff. I'm quite familiar with HIPPA and simply wanted general hospital information. For a nurse working in labor and delivery you would expect them to be sympathetic when giving information about someone trying to help with the loss of a child.

My Mother was 94 years old and admitted with a broken hip. Surgery experience was great. She had a problem that put in ICU. We were told she was not eating and found the problem was the food was not placed where she could reach it. She was released to a regular room for one day. We gave our nursing home preferences. Choice 1 and Choice 2. We left for lunch and came back and she had been moved to a nursing home for rehab. NO phone calls to inform us release was taking place. She was placed in Choice 2 nursing, stating Choice 1 had no vacancies. We received a call from our first choice the following day and they were expecting her. I told them Mercy said they no vacancies and they said that was not true. I will say the nurses on Floor were good. I am thinking of moving all of our family to Cox System. Barry B.

Administrative nightmare with hospital working with insurance carriers. Various websites have missing or incorrect phone numbers, e-mail addresses. You can spend all day on the phone waiting or being shuffled around. Doctors care is good but their staffs are horrible.

The theory that one bad apple can spoil the whole basket does not hold true on the 3rd floor of Mercy Hospital thank goodness. Once you get past the admitting nurses in ER the rest of the staff are great! I can't say enough good things about the doctors and nurses pulling for us. They bent over every which way! Thank you Mercy!

Rave reviews

The entire staff was very nice and accommodating during our time of loss. Dr. Lee, nurse Alex, and nurse Cary all took the time to explain what was going on with my grandmother in terms we all could understand. They were all very patient with us. They allowed us time to grieve and make educated decisions. I am thankful to God for placing these healthcare Angels to care for our loved one in ICU room 2 on 4/18/14. I know there were other healthcare workers also but these are the only Three names I remember. May God continue to use them to bless others as well.

The nurses at the cardiology section at the hospital I was in were the rudest, nastiest nurses I've ever seen.

It's a good hospital and good ...

It's a good hospital and good care. watch out for your bill. they say they're rooted in the ways of Jesus, when actually they're rooted in the business of money. Insurance paid all but 1900$$ and we were making $100 monthly pmts. Without warning of any kind from St. John's, no phone call no ltr, no nothing @ about 9:00 pm one evening .we get a call from a collection agency wanting more $$ in the monthly pmt.

Declaration of bankruptcy was our only option we told the collection people. Then they agreed the $100 would be OK. St. John's is rooted in the mercy of profits!!!!!
