      The Lutheran Home of Southbury has been providing care and assistance services for the senior citizens since 1918. It is located in Southbury, Conn., and is an affiliate of Lutheran Social Services and also a part of Lutheran Services of America. In addition, the center is a member of the Connecticut Association of Not-for-profit Providers For the Aging and its national affiliate, the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging. It provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy services in skilled nursing facilities. The center also specializes in care for individuals suffering from Alzheimer s disease and dementia-related disorders. It offers various other services that include short-term rehabilitation, extended nursing care, short- stay respite care and palliative and hospice care. The Lutheran Home of Southbury also provides daily meals, recreational activities, laundry, housekeeping services and chaplainry support for its residents.
