My wife and I had dinner there tonight and we were underwhelmed. I had the salmon and my wife had the New York Strip Steak. My salmon came with saffron rice and grilled vegetables. The salmon was well cooked and had a good flavor, but was a bit salty. The grilled vegetables were very good but the rice was terrible. It had an odd taste. My wife tasted it and she agreed. I told the server and he offered a replacement. I opted for the French fries and they were very good. My wife's steak was well cooked as were the grilled vegetables. Her whipped potatoes were very salty. The entrees don't come with a salad and bread is only offered if the the customer requests it. The portion sizes were alright, but not generous by any means. The meals cost $19.00 and $19.95 and we feel that we could have gone elsewhere and got a better meal for less. It's average in my judgement and I wouldn't recommend it.

We will never go back! Four of us were looking for a nice quiet dinner where we could catch up on our news. We entered through the front door and were blasted with extremely loud noise. They've taken down the wall at the far left end of the main room that used to separate the separate private room from the main hall, and that room now has TVs blaring. We asked whether they had a quiet room, and they put us in a small room with just 5 tables, which should be quiet. But the din soon rose as the room echoed everything that anyone said. We couldn't hear each other. The server was very nice, but the drinks were delayed because "the bar is at the far end of the restaurant" (under the TVs). The server was overworked, expected to clear and set tables as well as wait on us. We left to have dessert elsewhere. The quiet outside was such a relief! The tasty food did not make up for our horrible experience. The manager didn't care, was just happy they were busy,

Went to the Stage House specifcally to see Southern Steel. Been there two times so far and both times came away impressed with the decor, atmosphere, food, and service. There was plenty of parking, even with the construction being done for an addition to the place [outdoor patio bar?] There was a nice-sized area for dancing in front of the band and bar. The bartenders were cool despite the loudness of the band, the wait staff was busy but polite, and the second time we went there was a waitress walking around with trays of tasty appys [no charge]. We'll be back again when Southern Steel plays there and maybe even when they're not. I heard a rumor about a $10 cover charge coming, hope not because it'll kill the room for bands, their followings will just go someplace else; almost all of the places in NJ don't charge at the door anymore!

Tried it out for the first time a few nights ago. I agree it was very noisy. Service was EXTREMELY slow I think because the server spent so much time at the service bar waiting on drinks for his tables. Ordered fish and chips and asked for malt vinegar. The manager finally brought it over after she stopped by to see how everything was. At that point I was almost done with my meal. Overall I thought the dinner entrees were good. French onion soup and calamari that we got was run of the mill.

Having experienced the evolution of this property from the Colonial Farms of my youth, then as O'Connor's Beef n Chowder of my adulthood, and now to this new Stage House Tavern in my mid years, here is my .02 - First off, we were very satisfied with our dinner experience: quality, portions, price, service, etc... but saw acquaintances who were very displeased with service and food. Alas, the main dining area has lost its comfortable ambience and now reminds me of an urban restaurant - dinner conversation was difficult as there was an echo-y din which seemed to make everyone project louder. The renovations/upgrades to the former banquet room are stunning - the new bar in this casual dining/multipurpose area is quite spectacular. (Malcolm is back in action again!) Ownership needs to add upscale draft choices (ie - Magic Hat, Sam Adams, Smithwicks) now that they've hit a home run back there. Live music is a nice addition as well, as the new floor plan seems to embrace the entertainment.

Miss the dark intimacy and fireplace of the old bar.Otherwise the place is gorgeous, but the food is average minus. If they want to be the Tigers Tale, they need some help in the kitchen.

Food is average. Liked the O'Connors food more. Miss the salad bar. Saturday nights are very loud.

Recently, I came into your bar. A very attractive bartender named Erica served me. She was attentive, while waiting on a busy bar. She seemed to be enjoying herself as evidenced by her smile and upbeat personality. Although I wasn't hungry at the time, I found the menu to be quite appealing. In addition, I found the drinks to be on point, while other places I've frequented will serve watered-down dishwater. I found the atmosphere to be festive as I looked around and visibly saw patrons enjoying their food and libation. Looking forward to trying out your menu, hearing your bands, and enjoying a nice time. Kudos to the bar staff.

I would like to see a band that plays 70;s , 80's, 90's and recent music, classic rock, on Friday and Saturday nights. I think they can bring in a nice crowd as long as there is no cover charge. Everyone would drink and eat more, and the staff could potential make great tips. It is a win, win for everyone. And if there is no band available on a certain night, they could have karaoke night. I love the open set up of the place and the bartender that served my friends and I was great. His name was Chris. He should be a keeper. I didn't taste the food yet. I am waiting for the entertainment. Dinner, Drinks and entertainment is a great combo. The bands "Hit N Run" and another band "Mo Rock" are great for all crowds and they play locally around different clubs. Good Luck!! and Mazel Tov to the owner.

Had dinner there Sat Night. Extremely noisy! Service was terrible. We received our appetizers after we received our entrees. The poor service is probably due to being crowded and the kinks haven't been worked out yet. They need to do something about the noise level!

We were sat, but did not receive menus. The server was ready to take our order before we even looked at a menu. My food was cold and didn't have much taste. Bring back the salad and sundae bar! The renovations, however, were beautiful; I didn't even recognize the place. Our server was good. and the manager seemed nice.

Was looking forward to a new place in this area and was not impressed. The service was not very good, everything took a long time to get including drinks. It felt as though our waitress had better things to do and no follow up to see if we needed anything or even if our food came out and we were there at a time that was not busy. The food was only okay. Not much of a selection if you have small kids.
