      The Anchorage Tavern is the oldest continuously operated business establishment in Somers Point. The three story wood structure with slate roof and original lighted BAR signs on top has been operating since 1874. It is located in the beautiful Bay Historical District at 823 Bay Avenue. Donald Mahoney CEO Chef / Owner,since 1998,considers himself to be a lucky guy to have purchased a piece of Somers Point history. The patrons of the past were as diverse as they are today. Every age from young children to the elderly can be seen enjoying the ambiance and pleasant atmosphere. The memorabilia on the walls sparkle and bring back memories of well known people and places. The Anchorage was voted the Best Local Restaurant in The Atlantic City Press . If you want a peek at local history, a friendly hello, a wonderful meal , or a refreshing cocktail at our bar , The Anchorage is the place to go.
