      The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center provides inpatient and outpatient health care services to more than 130,000 veterans. Its service area includes over 15 counties in northeastern Texas and southwestern Arkansas, as well as parishes in northwestern Louisiana. The medical center specializes in the areas of general medicine, surgery, neurology and psychiatry. The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center operates an ambulatory care program to offer primary care services at community-based clinics. The center is affiliated with the Louisiana State University School of Medicine. It is a part of the Department of Veterans Affairs, which is a provider of veteran support services and health benefits.
