delightfully hospitable

Visitors to Shreveport, my wife and I wanted to experience a taste of India. We found the owners delightfully hospitable, visiting with us as we dined after 9 PM. A vegetarian's paradise, several appetizers and a full page menu offers entirely vegetarian options. A meat lover's dream, chicken, beef, and lamb are the majority of the menu. The owner served a basket of a specialty basmati rice sweet bread, no thicker than a grain of rice (much like chips), but stacked plenty tall. We couldn't finish them all, despite the two delicious dipping sauces. One, slightly spicy made of cilantro, and the other, made of tumeric, sweet to cool the palette. For the main entree, my wife chose the medium spice vegetable curry, served over an optional bed of what seemed like lentil-soup-flavored rice. I chose the creamy smooth spinach Paneer with small cubes of warm, soft, cottage cheese, also with a side of rice. I drank an iced tea, but only after placing the order noticed on the menu a special hot tea of India, mixed with milk and spices. The restaurant sits quietly with low lighting, and interesting cultural artwork on the walls. A humble building with no flashy lights to grab one's attention from the road, the restaurant sits quietly with low lighting, and interesting cultural artwork on the walls. A television in one corner glows with the evening news for those who need their fix.
