Found this place by chance while looking through area restaurants on Yelp. Saw that they had a good rating (4.5) and a cool name, so figured I would try them out. I'm always looking for good pizza places around Rochester area, since I moved here a few years ago.

And wow, what a serendipitous find this place was! From the pizza to the calzones to the stuffed burgers and even the anti-pasto salad. Everything was delicious! Oh man, and I can NOT forget the loaded fries!

First the pizza. As a Chicago native, and a lover of Chicago-style thin crust pizza, I am a bit of a snob when it comes to pizza. I have come to appreciate the Detroit-style deep dish pizza in SE Michigan (Buddy's Pizza has been my favorite of that style so far), but I still miss the Chicago-style thin crust. Back home on the South Side of Chicago, you can find this style pizza pretty much on every corner shop. From Giordano's to Vito and Nick's to (my favorite) Palermo's of 63rd Street, the thin crust pizza selections are amazing. The closest I had found to that style here in SE Michigan was PizzaPapalis. Their thin crust is excellent, with lots of cheese, so much there is no need for adding extra cheese (which I have had to do at pretty much every pizza place around here to get enough cheese). So PizzaPapalis was my standard and favorite for pizza in the area... UNTIL NOW! What Up Dough pizza is absolutely excellent. Delicious toppings, great cheese and sauce and the crust is crispy and chewy at the same time. Absolutely amazing. We tried the large meat loverz with extra cheese and sauce and the large Mayan Hawaiian with extra cheese and sauce. Both were full of flavor! Plenty of toppings, but not so much to overwhelm the pizza. Sauce and cheese were perfect and the crust... wonderful.

These guys take great pride in their work and it was evident in the pizza quality. This is my new go-to place for pizza in the area. It's not Chicago-style thin crust, but it's also not Detroit-style deep dish. In my opinion, it's the perfect blend of the two styles. Thin crust, but with a great amount of cheese and toppings which you normally find on a deep dish. The Mayan Hawaiian was an especially yummy surprise. The sweet tastiness of a Hawaiian pizza (pineapple and bacon) but with an amazing KICK of flavor from pepperoni, jalapenos, banana peppers and green peppers! I think I have a new favorite pizza!

Well, if that was not good enough, we also were truly impressed with the calzone. We shared a Chicken Ranch and it was probably enough for 2-3 people! Great size, ingredients were delicious, but the kicker was... the bread. Oh man was the bread good. Soft, chewy buttery yumminess! We are definitely going to have to try some of the other calzones on the menu after this.

If THAT were not enough, we also tried a stuffed cheesy bacon burger and loaded fries. I could write another novelette about both of these, but just trust me... both were just as good as the pizza and calzone. The loaded fries especially were just a flavor explosion of ooey, gooey, nacho cheesy, bacony awesomeness!

So, yeah, if you could not tell already, I think this place knocks it out of the park. Everything was stupendous and my friends and I will now be regular customers!
