      Founded in 1928, the Carey School is an independent coeducational private day school located in San Mateo, Calif. The school enrolls more than 150 students in prekindergarten through grade five. It offers classes in various subjects, including math, English, science and technology, language arts, computer science, and social studies. The school lays emphasis on enhancing the reading, writing, and language skills of students. It also offers various enrichment classes, in French, Spanish, arts and crafts, music, and physical education. The school organizes a wide variety of extracurricular activities, such as the Carey Chronicle, student forum, bake sales, field trips, and summer projects. It also provides other facilities, such as extended day care and after school services. The school also has a parent-teacher association that organizes and participates in various school events.
