Master Marine opened in 1997 with literally "humble" beginnings as a service and prop repair shop in an abandoned Humble Oil gas station on the East Side of San Antonio. Master Marine took on its first boat line, Carolina Skiff, in 1998 because they stacked inside each other and conserved space at the tiny facility. Within a few years, Master Marine became one of the top 20 Carolina Skiff and Suzuki dealers in the nation due to relentless effort, extraordinary customer service, and integrity. Master Marine' great service was recognized by Suzuki Marine with the coveted Super Service Award and by VIP BayStealth as one of the top 10 dealers in the nation. While the effort, customer service, and integrity remain intact, the Humble Oil gas station has long been abandoned for a 13, 500 square foot facility on Loop 1604 between Braun and Bandera Road in Northwest San Antonio. The new dealership will fill the needs of boating enthusiasts in Northwest Bexar and Medina Counties that have not had the convenience of a boat dealership in the area despite being the home of the beautiful Medina Lake. Master Marine is the oldest Suzuki dealer in Central and South Texas and they have years of experience in rigging and servicing the award winning four stroke outboards. You can choose either the Suzuki outboard or a power package from virtually any other engine manufacturer in existence on your new fresh or saltwater boat package at Master Marine. The models of boats to choose from also seem endless. The versatile Carolina Skiff line has been a mainstay for the dealership for seven years and is the number one selling outboard powered saltwater fishing boat in the nation. Texas Fish and Game outdoor writer, Aaron Reed, was fortunate enough to test a 19' Carolina Skiff rigged with a 90 HP Suzuki by Master Marine a few years ago and published an article praising the product and the dealership. Carolina Skiff offers 40 different models of fishing boats in lengths from 12 to 27 feet and in designs ranging from flats boats to Catamaran Sea Chaser offshore boats in every fishing configuration imaginable. Note: Since the publication of this story in July, 2005, Master Marine has added five more boat lines: Alumacraft, BlueWave, Robalo, Caravelle, Veranda, and Chaparral ; and two motor lines, Volvo and Evinude.
