I would give them less than one star if I could! Worst moving experience ever. The movers were 3 hours beyond the end of the original window I was given. NOT ONE person called me to let me know, I had to call their office every single time and kept getting the run around. I was scheduled to move between 12-3, the movers did not show up until 6PM! On top of that, I had to call them the day before to even find out what time to expect the movers. I had asked for a morning move a good month before my move date, and the day before was told to expect them in the afternoon.



So the movers get there, and are fairly slow, but did an ok job, up until I had paid them when we arrived at my new home. Then one of the movers asked my brother in law to help out because it was getting late! I couldn't believe it, if I wanted my family to help I would not have hired movers in the first place. And then they could not get the elliptical to fit up the stairs and had no clue how to take it apart, my brother in law had to do it and put it back together (very lucky he was there). Overall, a horrible stressful experience, call some one else. Management seems to be a mess and they do not communicate what so ever to their customers. They sure where quick to call me when I filled out the original information form..that's the only time you can expect a call from them.

DO NOT believe the sales pitch....Jim gave us a quote and said "it will not cost more than this, it may even cost less." Then we get the bill and it is $300 more. I called. The manager and they said they do not do flat rates, which may be true, but if it is the salesman lied to us. They will take advantage of your stress to get you to believe a false sales pitch and over charge.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! STAY AWAY! ALL of my big pieces are RUININED! They moved my stuff in June from VA to Nashville & it's now October & they are refusing to pay for HALF of the repairs needed to fix my furniture. They also quoted me 3K to move & the final total was 4.5K. I explained every piece I needed to move & they could not explain the extra 1.5K jump in price. I also believe they DO NOT do background checks on the movers! I didn't want criminals in my home but couldn't prove it. LEARN FROM ME & STAY AWAY!

To follow is the feedback I sent to All My Sons. The staff who replied was completely rude and unprofessional. I wish we had NEVER used this company



First, the crew you sent to our home was profession and courteous. Stevie, James, and Jeremi are assets to your company.



That said, I do have some issues with the the website stating "One of our moving professionals will come out to your home and conduct an in-home survey to determine the moving crew, equipment and packing supplies required."



No one from All my sons came to survey the home and the storage facility we needed to have moved. Everything was done quickly over the phone only. As a result, too few crew members and too few trucks were sent to make the move in one trip. We had to pay for multiple trips where we were essentially paying for more driving time. Had someone actually given us the "personalized service". As your website states "We are a service company that caters to each client’s needs with an individualized approach." In this regard, your company failed utterly.



Quote for service: Why would you give us a quote where the minimum hours, extra hour for travel, and fuel surcharges were not included? You state "Our professional consultants will quote you the best local moving rate possible and guide you through the entire moving process." Didn't happen. In fact, there are items still at our former residence which couldn't be moved since we were going so far over budget! So currently I am having to move the remaining shed and home items piece by piece to complete the move your company "promised" to complete in one trip on time and on budget. Are you going to pay me for finishing your job?



Your company appears to be better at empty promises and false advertising when it come to quotes and "personal attention".



So to summarize: no personal service up front, misquoted price to move, not enough crew/equipment to perform the job. Job remains unfinished.



Again, your movers were great and made apologies for the company. They are working like crazy and apologized for someone in an office! That is a true shame.

We had an amazing experience here in RVA with All My Sons Moving & Storage on Friday! My partner and I moved from a 2 bdrm apartment in the Fan to a 3 bedroom in Mechanicsville. We had everything ready adn waiting when they arrived. The moving crew was on time, if not earlier than we expected. The crew was fast and careful. We did not have one claim to file! We had packed our cars with stuff the day prior, just to help keep the cost down. The move in went just as smoothly as the move out. The crew worked very well together and nobody ever took a break. We did not have any issues with the estimate, bill, payment or any staff member. I can't remember who I dealt with in the office, but I DO remember that is wasn't a hassle and that Jim did a spot-on job with the estimate. We had a great long weekend in our new home, all due to the amazing start from All My Sons Moving & Storage on Friday morning!

I actually found All My Sons Moving in the yellow pages. I moved from King George to Richmond and used All My Sons Moving. I had a great experience. The team was fantastic! The driver Jon was very organized. Helpers Ed and Robert were all business as well. Nothing was damaged in the move and the office staff is extremely polite and professional. I had little to move, but they were fast and careful. I would highly recommend them.

I found All My Sons in the yellow pages. I was treated well by the office staff, Dominic in particular.

All went very well the day of the move. I moved from a 1 bedroom condo to a 2 bedroom house approx 18 miles away. My furniture and belongings were handled very carefully. I thought everyone was very courteous and helpful. A special thanks to the driver Larry, with helpers Ed & Bubba. They were willing to do whatever asked.

I had never hired a professional moving service before and was referred to "moverreviews.com" as a place to start reading up on moving companies. I elected to have several estimates and really checked into the background of the companies I was considering. It did not take me long to decide upon All My Sons Moving. I was a bit cautious about hiring them because I needed to move within Charlottesville and they were based out of Richmond. I should not have worried because the service I received was outstanding. The move actually cost less than the estimate. I didn't have anything broken or misplaced and the men were very friendly. The office staff was kind and explained everything to me before I even booked with them. I felt very at ease with All My Sons Moving. I would highly recommend them and would use them again if I should ever need a moving service. Great job!

I was hoping for professionals who would more my items with care, but they broken several items, went 2 hours over the estimated time and even over billed me at the end by an additional half hour. Now they are refusing to issue a refund even though I have paperwork stating they left earlier than the time we were billed for. The crew was very unprofessional and moved extremely slow, taking several 10-15 minute breaks throughout the day when we were paying by the hour. On top of it all, they didn't even put the boxes in the specific rooms, they left them all in my garage. Other than the initial calls to book All My Sons the customer service was terrible. I would strongly caution anyone using All My Sons in the Richmond area against it. I have had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau just to get a refund that I have documentation about and still have not had a response from the company.

In case you don't have a lot of time I'll put the most important piece of information right here at the beginning. Never, ever use All My Sons Moving. No matter what they quote you and tell you over the phone, they will not deliver and you will be left wishing you had never even heard their name. They quoted us 4 to 6 hours, and it took 12 hours. It more than doubled our moving expense. They also destroyed the front door to our house, broken a piece of framed art, and dented our refrigerator. That totals over 700 in damages. They offers us $130 total. There are several good companies out there to help you move, and this is not one of them. They will over promise and under deliver and charge you twice what they quote. Use anyone but this company.
