Holly is a fabulous salon owner. She truly cares about her clients and goes out of her way to make sure that they get the outcome that they want. She treats every client with respect and professionalism. She is definitely one of a kind!

I had an appointment this morning for a haircut and full highlights at this place. I had previously purchased a groupon for $45 as I have done many other times with excellent results at other salons. When I called to schedule the appointment, I was told long hair was extra by the owner. When I stated that it didn't mention this in the groupon, I was given a lecture trying to make me feel bad that since the girl was an independent contractor, she had to pay 50% to groupon as well as a percentage to her so in the end she is really doing my hair for nothing. If these businesses are really not getting paid anything to advertise on groupon than why do they do it? I then stated that her explanation still didn't answer why it didn't mention this in the fine print. Then she tells me that she isn't trying to make excuses but Groupon wouldn't let them say that. I find that hard to believe. Wrapping up this conversation, I asked her if they bleach over already lightened hair or just do the roots. Fair question, I thought...I mean I have had experiences with my hair falling out due to over bleaching. The owner than got VERY defensive and went on a rant about how she only hires professionals and they know what they are doing. Again, avoiding the question. I was not accusing her staff of being unprofessional but she certainly was acting unprofessional on the phone! Why I didn't just hang up the phone at this point and cancel my groupon I have no idea, but I still set up an appointment thinking this independent contractor would be more appealing to deal with. Guess what? I was wrong! I walked in this morning, sat down and was told it would be $40 extra. Mind you, my hair is long but just a few inches past my shoulders, nothing crazy! Not to mention I was about to get it cut anyway. She expected me to pay just short of DOUBLE what I paid for the groupon. I asked her what the point of buying her groupon was if she was going to charge me normal price anyway and walked out. My sister went to another local salon with the same groupon, hair longer than mine and they didn't just do one color of highlights but TWO...and still didn't charge extra. I hope it was worth losing the money for my appointment! I immediately called groupon customer service and they could not believe what I told them. They said they would have accommodated them and included the extra fees in the fine print had they mentioned it. I got my money back but I thought my experience was worth sharing!
