I went in for a haircut here because honestly i did not want to pay alot of money to do so. I needed to chop it and the student that did it did a very good job. Since she cut my hair curly i decided to straighten it the next day at home and realized it needed to fixed. So when i went back in a teacher remembered me and knew exactly what i needed fixed. So as a student was fixing my hair and restraightening it becuase she had sprayed it with water the teacher came over and said "no you were only suppose to cut it no straighten it, leave it" all because they had more customers to tend to. Then she looked at me (with a not so nice look in her eyes) and said " now i have to charge you for it!" leaving me very uncomfortable. Did she want me to leave looking like a frizz ball. I am an R.N. who thru-out the years have never seemed to find the time to go to a salon to color my hair. Needless to say,after years of using the "box-method",my hair was almost black. A friend of mine recommended going to The Empire Beauty School. I was very skeptical,since students perform all of the services offered.I wanted to dye my hair light brown with highlights.I met the instructer{Ms. Jean}, a hair colorist specialist. She informed me that it would be impossible, and that I would have to cut my hair until all the box dye was gone.She and my student {Caitlin Galle},discussed what color dye needed to be mixed.Caitlin was PHENOMINAL !.My adult daughters have always hated my hair styles, and for the 1st time ever, they loved it ! !. My hair cut was stylish-perfectly cut. I also had a pedicure by Ariana, again-perfectly done. The prices are OUTRAGEOUSLY LOW. I recommend you check out the prices,and services offered. It's a waste Of Time and Money. When you go for a tour everything is great! They make u feel so good about it. The first couple of weeks I did not like the curriculum because they just try to get rid of it and they dont care if you learned of not, they go so fast with it that u cant learn one thing neither other. We were there sitting waiting for the teacher and half of the day was free, with breaks or people sleeping, out of the classroom. I went to talk to the director about my concerns and the only thing she did was to say that I had to be patience that it was going to change. It did not change so I went again with the director. She said the same thing again, she said she was to change me to other class and she told my teacher that I was telling bad things about my class. I waited and waited; they never changed me to other class and Guess what! I went again with the director, she told me: I cant change u because everyone will want the same. I went to this school Before it was Empire and it was a great experience . Now that's empire they still have same the teachers there. I've been there since and the program is great. People saying negative thing about it, aren't going to make on the real world. If you thing their rules are hard find something else to do because you aren't going to make it at al

I don't know about the other Empire schools but the school in providence is absolutely ridiculous they put on this beautiful act to get u to go there but they treat u like trash once you start. There are teachers that are great but some that make you feel like you're the scum of the earth if you score anything below a 90 on a test I DO NOT recommend this school to ANYONE and I'm actually thinking of switching to another school myself.
