I called on 8/6/18 and had two questions to ask. I asked about repairing a watch and was told he did not work on that brand. He hung up abruptly before I could ask the next question so I called back and told him I had another question and he told me at this point he had a customer in the store. Well he lost any of my business. It would have been nice to have told me that or took my number to call back at that point. He did not seem interested in helping me.

I lucked out finding Ed Winkler & Son Jewelers. They are excellent and don't charge you a weeks salary to service a watch. I have 4 Girard-Perregaux manual wind vintage/antique womans watches. They all needed cleaning, oiling & servicing. I called several watch repair/jewelery stores in the yellow pages. Smyth Jewelers charges $300.00 a watch with 6-8 weeks to do the work. Howard County watch repair person charges $135.00 a watch with the same 6-8 weeks. Ed Winkler & Son Jewelers charges $75.00 a watch and he compleated the work in a week. Great side store: one of the watches that I had recentley purchased in a Hampden antique store was previously serviced by his dad in the 1960's. Apparently they etch their initials or number in the inside of the casing. Sweet watch experience! He learned he trade from his dad and granddad who previously owned the store. He's the only one in Baltimore I would take my watches to! Expert & Quick Service with Great Prices. It's a no brainer.

Small shop just south of Beltway. Has repaired several watches for me. Reasonable, reliable and quality work . Will give honest opinion of condition of watch and whether it is worth repairing. BAF
