      As a part of the City of Paramount in California, Parks & Recreation Department manages a variety of parks, swimming pools and recreational sites available for residents and community groups. The department offers Gang Resistance Is Paramount, which is an antigang program that includes gang resistance lessons for students. The department also organizes workshops, counseling services and training sessions for parents and youths. Parks & Recreation Department provides Success through Academics and Recreation, which is an after-school program that includes academic assistance services and recreational activities for students in grades one through five.
