I chose Academy Overhead Door because of an Amazon discounted service. They seemed to be quite busy as my scheduled maintenance was 3 weeks out. There could have been a follow up call the day prior to the appointment as I was scheduled for a technician to be at the house between 3 and 5 pm and did not hear from anyone until Shawn had called at 4:40 pm saying that he was going to be about a half hour late. Shawn was a very friendly and knowledgeable tech who evaluated the condition of the garage door. He reviewed the findings and stated the rollers were shot and needed to be replaced, which I agreed. He was fast, efficient and explained what he was doing as he was doing his work. I would recommend Academy Overhead Door company. I feel the front office staff could do a better job in informing the customers with a reminder the day before or the day of (communication) the appointment.

They were responsive and friendly. James was our service pro, and had the work done well, and in short order. They send you an email before your appointment, with a picture of the individual coming to do the work. I didn't actually get the email before my service guy had shown up, but I attribute that to my last minute request. I had read previous reviews about the cost of parts being a tad high, so I did some looking after the work was completed. I had two springs and the rollers replaced, on a single door. The rollers were charged to me at $8/ea ($96 for the set). I found similar ones on Amazon for about $15 after shipping, for a set of 10. So there's a decent mark up there. There was a coupon on their website for $35 off the work, so I'd recommend checking there before you have someone come out, to see if you can save a bit more. All-in-all, it was a good experience, and I would recommend them to someone else.
