I made an appointment for CJS to service my two septic tanks. I had used their services before with no problems. They quoted me a price of $95 to dig out and expose both septic covers and then the pump out fees. Two of their staff arrived on Friday. They wanted payment upfront before work. OK no problem. They fully serviced one tank but then said it was too much work to fully dig out the other cover. They told my wife to pay our landscaper to dig out the cover and left. I looked at what they had done. The second cover was 85% uncovered. I took a picture of it to show their manager. When I called the company to speak to the manager , the receptionist refused to let me speak to anyone else but the the guy who had come out. I asked multiple times to speak to someone in charge and was refused. I finally talked to the guy who came out and he said "the ground was too hard" and it would take too long to dig out. I went out later and dug it out myself. It took 20 minutes for one 53 year old man to finish the work. Those 2 guys should have been able to finish the work in under 10 minutes. I called a different septic company. They came promptly the next day and did the pump out on the 2nd tank. Exactly one week later, CJS called me and said if I still wanted the 2nd tank pumped they would waive the $95 dig out fee. Well really come on. I paid you guys $95 upfront to dig out both covers and you didn't do it. On top of that you wanted me to pay the my landscaper to finish the work I paid you upfront to do. I asked to speak to a manager several times and again was refused. I won't be using this company's services any longer.

Nice enough guy but could not find the septic cap and chewed up lawn in the process. And worst of all broke my sprinkler line. Never had a problem locating it before with other service people.

Excellent Service, on time, Technician was Thorough and explained the system.

Beware... If you live in Ocean county & need a septic field replacement they will send you to an engineer who will charge you $2,000 for unneeded plans. Totally unethical outfit. Ditto Two Rivers Engineering, their favorite engineer.
