Unless you have VERY deep pockets and are agreeable to someone DICTATING the care of your pet, go somewhere else. I used Dr. Edwards for almost 20 years and loved the clinic and the staff. However, it's a totally different practice now. As others have stated, the whole atmosphere reeks of making as much $$$$$ as possible off your pet. I scheduled my dog to be spayed, was quoted one price on the phone when making the appointment, was quoted a higher price when I brought my dog in, and was then telephoned later in the morning and told they would not do the surgery unless I had my dog vaccinated by them. I choose to vaccinate my dogs myself (except for Rabies) but was told they don't "accept" vaccinations done privately. And they were perfectly willing for my dog to be unnecessarily double vaccinated, just for the $$$$. Needless to say, I picked her up and I'll NEVER go back or refer anyone to them.

This veterinary clinic is very clean and the staff seems quite friendly. I have no concerns about Dr. Holbrook's expertise (although his "bedside manner" leaves much to be desired). The solitary reason that I will not return to this clinic is, as has been stated on this and other websites, that there is a very high pressure sales atmosphere as they try to perform all kinds of unnecessary services, tests and procedures. They try to manipulate you with subtle innuendo regarding what a caring pet owner would do. It is very insulting, tacky and creates an uncomfortable atmosphere. After three routine visits, they have eroded my trust by suggesting I subject my dog to unnecessary treatments each time. If you do use them, please use common sense and do not be intimidated into agreeing to services and treatments you know your animal does not need. Also, be aware that the services your animal does need will be more expensive than customary.

The entire staff are all very professional and really care. I have been using their services for many years and have never had a bad experience. Dr. Holbrook is fantastic. Thank you for everything!

I will NEVER return to Marion Veterinary Hospital. High pressure sales tactics for unneccesary treatment, repeated harassment though email to purchase their "extra" services, and phone harassment to bring my animal back for additional (unneccesary) services have made my entire experience with them a NIGHTMARE. When I finally (after several phone calls) made them understand that I would NEVER be bringing my animal back to their facility, they attempted to call animal control to report that we refused "necessary treatment" for the animal. (The dog had worms, and the first treatment took care of the issue, no need for additional services) Thankfully, animal control agreed that they were completely out of line. Long story short, it was a ridiculous exprience all together...and we will NEVER go back!!

I HAD AN OUT OF TOWN TRIP AND HAD NO ONE TO LEAVE MY 3 KITTYS OR MY DOG WITH, I PHONED IN AT 5:30PM, THEY CLOSE AT 6PM, I WAS ABLE TO HAVE ALL 4 OF MY PETS CARED FOR WHILE I WAS AWAY. THAT IS GREAT BUSINESS IN MY OPINION. YES, THEY ARE A LITTLE PRICEY, BUT REMEMBER YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! THANKS DR HOLBROOK AND STAFF FOR THE LAST MINUTE ACCOMMODATIONS FOR MY PETS!!!!!

Dr. Holbrook is genuinely concerned about your pets. He is a little pricey; however, he is knowlegeable and compassionate about the well being of your pet.

All staff really cares about is getting money they have long waits my first visit took like 2 hours and when I meet doctor all he talked about was prices and wanted to charge me more than what I was told do not go stay away from this vet!!
