I purchased some dining room furniture yesterday at Blocker's Furniture. It was truly a pleasure to deal with "J.J." at the store. He accommodated me completely through the process, answering questions, searching the books for what I was looking for, all without being pushy. The ladies in the back were very nice and accommodating, as well.
Although I knew what I was looking for (and they had the best price around), the store has a wide selection, and with J.J.'s help, I picked a beautiful console that was on sale, to go with my other predetermined pieces. Altogether, a great buying experience. Will make sure they're the first store I look at the next time I'm looking to purchase.

We phoned the store to report our issues and they said that Randy would be calling us. Randy phoned us about a week later .....and came out and told us that a new section would have to be made and he would replace the cushion. We never heard from him again. I finally phoned Blockers to see what was going on 4 weeks later. I was told that a new section was being made and all of that took time. I told them I understood that completely but felt they should have given me a follow-up call to let me know what was going on. About 2 weeks later I received a call to say that my couch was finished and was being shipped from Canada and would be here in 7 to 10 days. I said great...call me when you are going to deliver and I'll make sure we are available. Well that was over a month ago and we've STILL have NOT received any communication with Blockers. So, if you are planning to purchase furniture from this store, beware of the customer service.....you'll be greatly disappointed.

Awful customer service

I had a terrible experience with Blocker's Furniture in Ocala, FL. I drove to Ocala (about an hour) to purchase a mattress. When I got there I realized that I had forgotten my letter from my doctor which allows it to be tax free. I was told by the salesperson that the letter could be faxed and the transaction could be done over the phone due to my already having an account with them. When I got home and faxed the letter, I was then told that it would need to come directly from the doctor's office. After the doctor's office faxed the letter, I was then told that they could not accept it by fax and that they would need an original. They also told me at that point that I could not do the transaction by phone because I would need to sign the paperwork. Two weeks later, I drove back to Ocala (an hours drive) with my letter in hand and tried to place the order, and guess what ! they could not accept it because it was a letter (on letterhead with the doctor's signature) and not written out as a prescription. Finally, after going back and forth and my almost leaving the store, I was told they would do it this one time but were not supposed to. Nice of them, huh? So my mattress was ordered and it would be a week or two for delivery and they would be calling me to setup a time. whew! Ten days later (on a Wednesday) I decided to call and check on my order because I had not heard from anyone and we were approaching the 14 day mark. I was told the order was in and we just needed to setup a delivery date/time. I asked how long has the order been in because I had not heard from anyone and she said she did not know (which is BS, I'm sure). She further advised that they only deliver to my area on Tuesdays (which was yesterday) so now I am having to wait another week. Both of the the customer service representatives I dealt with in the store and on the phone were extremely rude and obviously had no positive customer service experience. The furniture is nice but the customer service is awful!!!

Blocker's has great service and a huge selection of really neat furniture. One of the sales ladies, who's really nice, helped me pick out a new set of furniture for my bedroom, and it looks GREAT. I got exactly what I wanted - Highly recommended.

Blockers Manager is Offensive

and irrational.The manager seriously acted like he was doing ME a favor and he didn't say "go F... yourself" but he might as well have, he did however act like he was completely offended that I wanted to talk to him and I was completely wasting his time, which he made me wait over 2 hours to speak with him...... He basically talked down to me the whole time, and was completely rude.I would love to explain to an owner, that because blocker's has been around for 100 years doesn't mean I should feel privileged that they are WILLING to sell me furniture.There are lots of other furniture places in Ocala and in the surrounding areas, everything you (Blockers) have can be searched online, you no longer have exclusivity here in town. People buy from you because your local. NO OTHER REASON. Your higher then other people and the way you speak to customers is offensive.

normally stock was a foot-board, I agreed that because the foot-board is not one of your normal stock items that I would pay for that, but wanted to finance the rest with the 0% financing.I was told that it was policy and I could speak to a manager. When he came out he immediately approached me like I was the enemy and was wasting his time. I said, I understand you don't want to restock the item that I was ordering extra, but the other items are items you normally stock, he said, well If you had CALLED I could have made sure it was here, I said I did call, yesterday and was told that it was here. He said well it's not NOW, so you have to pay the 25%. I said so there is nothing we can negotiate, it's all or nothing. He says Yes!! I said, so thats it then? He said its POLICY you have to pay 25% on anything not in the warehouse,i said even if I leave and go somewhere else? He said that's fine, that's your choice. I realized at that point there was no talking to him. He is unreasonable

This is why I am writing this. I went to Blockers to buy furniture and it was single handly one of the worst shopping experiences of my life. I went into your store, knowing what furniture I wanted down to sku #, the price and the sale price. I wanted to do financing, which I was told the day before when I called that all of the items were in stock and could be delivered this week. I got there at 11:30am it wasn't until 2pm that I was told because all of the items were NOT in stock, that I would have to put 25% down. The only thing I wanted that Blockers didn't n

Needs Not Met

We have purchased furniture from Blockers in the past and we were happy with the furniture and service. We also try to support local businesses when making purchases. I went to Blockers several times and gave my wife a picture of the furniure for Christmas. My wife was very excited and selected a set that exceeded $4k the day after Christmas. My displeasure is that they were not willing to work with us on the delivery after waiting 9 weeks for a so called custom order. Kids, work were is the time. So I call to speak with a manager to discuss the delivery. I then find out there are 2 days they deliver in our area with a 2 hr window. They stated they load the truck and follow a route. The lady said if I only understood how many deliveries they do in a day I would understand. I will never purchase again from Blocker's. They were not willing to my needs even after I called to discuss the issue. You would think in the state of the economy they would be bending over bachwards for business.
