      Founded in 1970 and located in Sarasota, Fla., Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County is a nonprofit organization that offers educational and recreational programs for youths. It also provides art, leadership development, fitness and sports programs. The organization additionally offers programs in career and life skill development. It also conducts dance, drama and art classes. Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County offers homework assistance, tutoring and mentoring services. The organization provides Power Hour, Kids in College, Keys to the Future, Project Connect and Project Learn programs. Its art programs enable youths to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through performing arts and creative writing. The organization also provides SMART Moves, SMART Girls and Passport to Manhood programs. It is a part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which is a national network of more than 3,500 neighborhood-based facilities.
