About Newberry Pathology Newberry Pathology Associates located in in Newberry SC, was founded in 1983 by Dr. Joel Sexton, who moved from Charleston to establish the business in Newberry. Dr. Keene Garvin, who had known Dr. Sexton from his days of residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, joined the practice soon after to assist Dr. Sexton during a period of illness which he endured. Dr. Janice Ross moved to Newberry from New York in 2000 to make a most valuable addition to the firm. Through the years, Newberry Pathology has come come to handle cases sent by the coroners of over thirty different counties. Our office is one of only 2 in the state that perform forensic autopsies for other counties.
