Let me start off by saying I avoided posting a review at first even though my family member dealt with TERRIBLE service and overall job dealt with here because I usually don’t bring it that far but once I saw the DISGUSTING racist comments from the owners son in-law, I decided I should’ve shared my experience from the jump. Do better.
Do not go to this business for any type of services. After seeing Grela’s husband make comments excusing his actions calling an African American the N-word, I will make sure everyone knows who they’re going to. You can only assume she holds the same values. You are better off supporting someone’s business elsewhere.
I want to thank Grela well for all the help. I was purchasing my first home with a well. I had no idea where to start with water testing or inspection. The ladies in the office were a huge help. Water was tested and the well had to be treated and retested. They made everything so easy and my closing went off without a hitch
I purchase my home back in September of 2016 which has a well. I was not at all familiar with well systems. I lost water pressure at one point and then lost water. I reach out to grella and within 25 mins they have a service tech at my home. He look over my system and explain everything to me told me what I needed to get fix, showed me a list of prices. Tech then asked me if I would like to take care of this problem now or wait. I gave them the okay. They fix a bunch of this with the well. And have me so much info on what to do. I can't not thank this company enough for there fast response to my problem and there tech who was very knowledgeable at his job. They left my basement very clean once they were done. I would recommend this company to anyone who is in need of well problems.
I recently had an issue with a well pipe leaking into my cellar. I contacted Grela to see if they would fix the problem.
They made an appointment to come out and look at the issue. Upon viewing the pipe, they jackhammered around the pipe, cleaned it out, and then used hydraulic cement to seal around the pipe. I have yet to have any leaks!
The workers were professional and did a fine job. They cleaned up the debris and left my cellar cleaner than when they started. The price was the reasonable.
While everyone was friendly, at no point did anyone take a minute to discuss the cost of the repair. I went inside assuming they would assess the problem and give me an estimate, only to have them hand me a bill totaling nearly $1,600.00 for a 130 foot well. (I know an individual with a 300 foot well that totaled this)
The pump by itself they marked up to $910, when you can pick up a 1/2 horsepower water pump for $500 at your local Lowes (which I would have done if they took the time to discuss pricing). To add to this they replaced another piece that was already tested and working just fine.
I've remodeled two homes top to bottom and never once have I had a contractor or business not discuss pricing until they finish the job. That's like taking your car for an oil change and then having them hand you a $1,000 bill for other charges they decided to do without asking.
It should be noted they had installed the original pump, which when viewed by an electrician was determined to be a very poor job of wiring.
I recently had a no water call. A plumber came out and said "our well was dry". We used the Yellow Pages online to make our who to call list. After 2 days of no water and no call backs. We went back to the YP, we had passed over Grela because of a bad review. We called and a live person answered the phone, she was professional and helpful. She took our information and said she would call us right back. We were pleasantly surprised when she called back in 10 minutes and said they could have someone out to us in 20 minutes.
The folks that came out were very professional and explained everything to us. After the inspection, they informed us that we did not have a dry well but that the pump was bad. We were given a quote on the spot, I knew that a pump would be about $700 (I replaced the bad one a few years ago). Grela's price was higher, but not over the top.
They also replaced a cracked pipe in the basement with no additional cost. I will use this company again!
Horrendous experiences with these guys for 3 years. Don't know why I keep going to them. Between losing my samples, not calling me back, making an absolute mess of my filter area, and COMPLETELY ripping me off with absurd charges for 10 minutes of "maintenance labor", I don't see how they are in business. There is a sticker on my filtration system that says it requires yearly maintenance so I figured I would have them come out after 3 years of owning my home. They charged me $230 to change my filter.... I change my filters every couple months for $10! Absolute rip off! Stay far away!
