I had one of the best steaks I can remember recently. My boyfriend and I shared the porterhouse for two and it was sublime (I did my happy dance while eating it). They brought out a giant platter with the huge steak (cooked perfectly, so tender) with fresh vegetables and smashed fingerling potatoes, and a few different sauces to choose from. Even the bread with olive oil and balsamic before the meal was amazing, easily the best balsamic/oil combo I ever had.

Unbelievable. We were blessed to have Mary (the owner) waite on us. Amazing food, great service, and a great ambiance. I will be back! I would strongly recommend that you request Mary. Lovely lady....

We had not been here for a while and we were so happy to find that it was even better than we remembered. Service and food were excellent from cocktails to dessert for our table of 5 celebrating the holiday season. We had the date appetizer, beet salad, pan-roasted chicken, special ravioli with chicken, steak frite, and osso bucco, all delicious, beautifully served and reasonably priced. We can't wait to go back, no need to wait for a special occasion.

I ate here while staying at the Victoria Inn; strongly recommend both. Creative food, excellent wine list (with a lot of local Sierra Nevada flavor), and terrific staff.

We went midweek in October and were nearly the only people in the restaurant. The food was excellent - I had the savory pork chop and my husband had the lamb chop special. Both were fantastic. Service was wonderful too. Overall a lovely evening.

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of food, the service and the restaurant. V is the place to go in Murphys - by the locals and tourists alike. The bar is a popular spot with the bartender doing a fabulous job of mixing up some killer martinis. Four of us dined at the restaurant on a busy Saturday night. Our server did an excellent job of pacing our courses so that we had time to enjoy ourselves and our meal. We enjoyed a variety of their small plates and dinner entrees and everything was superb.

If you are ever in Murphy, be sure and visit V Restaurant & Bar. This restaurant was recommended to us by a complete stranger. We were there on a Sunday about 1:00 pm. Very charming, small and quaint. The passion fruit martini is to die for. The restaurant has actually won an award for their drink mixes. They make all the mixes for their cocktails and they are really delicious. My spouse had the bloody mary and it was totally different from anything he had ever had. The food was delicious as well. Preparation and presentation are fabulous. Service excellent. Definitely would go back.

Ate inside on Sat. Excellent food. Ate at a table in the bar area, and acoustics there made it hard to hear, but the food and service more than made up for this. Request a table in the main room when you make a reservation or outside if its a warm evening. Our waitress was excellent and also made drinks for other staff as necessary. She was busy, busy!! This is a place to have small plates and graze, in my opinion, so you can try a bit of everthing

We just enjoyed an outstanding meal at 'V' that began with blue cheese stuffed figs wrapped in bacon and grilled to perfection, followed by Caesar salad served in a Parmesan cheese bowl that we shared. Our 'big plates' consisted of tender prawns over fettuccine with pesto for Bill and succulent, delicious sea scallops for me. My finale was a fabulous, dense, dreamy chocolate cake while Bill loved his berry crisp with homemade vanilla ice cream. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our divine evening. Bob is a master in the kitchen!

We love how cozy it is and how good the food is. The food is a tad bit expensive, but a good bet for when you want to "go out and treat yourself"..it's connected with a darling inn as well

I love coming to Murphys to visit my parents whenever I have the chance. Murphys is such a great little community and there is always some event or another practically every weekend. Tonight we saw a few of the local winery owners/makers sitting on the porch visiting with one another. One of the men was dressed as Jack Sparrow and the woman was dressed as a pirate wench. Twisted Oak was having their pirate party so Murphys was visited by many a pirate this fine evening. Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! I ordered the porcini risotto (creamy goodness) and started with a beet salad. Yum yum yum! Of course I also had to have my fave Passiontini (TDF). My brother had the turkey saltimbocca served with the best mac and cheese I've ever had the pleasure of swiping off of someone else's plate! Mom had a steak special which she loved and my Dad had the Cesar salad in a parmesan cheese bowl and a small plate of the mac and cheese. I of course had to steal some of his too. It is that goo

It was our last morning in Murphys and V came highly recommended. There were 4 of us and we were quickly seated by a welcoming hostess. The interior was tastefully done and felt comfortable and charming. We started with stuffed olives which were great. Next, the Dungeness Crab salad was incredible and I could have easily eaten that by itself as a meal as the portion was rather large. I had split it with someone and thought they had brought 2 salads instead of one at first site! My entree was the beef burger which was great though cooked a little well-done for my liking. Nonetheless, we shared plates and everything was great and presented very well. Also consider the Eggs Benedict or egg plate at brunch. A must go each time we go to Murphys.

We had dinner at the 'V' during their soft re-opening recently. The owners Melissa and Michael Ninos did a great job - we were there the 2nd night - they got the hiccups out from the 1st night soft opening... and fine tuned their flow... Totally enjoyed the amazing beef Wellington (the chef made it his style so it wasn't engulfed in dough but had just the right amount to capitalize on the taste combination), the farmers salad was delicious and fresh (came on a skinny oblong plate and unlike sooo many places, happily it was NOT drenched in salad dressing); my tastebuds and my waistline appreciated it, the vegetables were just right crisp and the bruscetta was delicious. All with white linen table cloths and a bar /talented mixologist. We went back a couple of weeks later - last weekend, learned that the chef changes the menu seasonally to use fresh locally produced veggies and in keeping with the powers of nature and the season, (he was the chef at Bishop on the Square in Merced and t

Chef Dan and staff serve an amazing array of seasonal and local foods. Served in great new combinations. Don't miss the V Bistro next door for breakfast or lunch. Wonderful wines and mixed drinks, too.

WE have been to Murphy's on several occasions but this time happened to stumble upon V restaurant and bar. We decided to have a late lunch on Father's Day. The restaurant is very cozy and inviting. We were seated immediately. The owner came over, who was very nice and took our drink order. After drinks were served we ordered our food, which took a while to be served, but when it arrived all five orders were very tasty. Our server was very nice, but it seemed as if he was the only server indoors. I will definitely but returning as there were other items on the menu which I would like to try.

Nicest restaurant in Murphys. This was by far the nicest restaurant in Murphys. The lamb and fillet were cooked perfectly and the service was great.
