This use to be a good place to eat !! I can see by the other reviews that the service has gone down as well . Ate there last night around 5:15 ..The dishes that were supposed to be cleaned still had food around the edges on them ... Now that's un-sanitary !! Pointed it out to a waitress and she took them in the back .. Who wants to eat with dirty dishes !! Not me l

Very disappoited. I contacted the resturant to have my reception catered. I talked to the owner, we setup a menu, he quoted me a price and told me to contact him two months before my event. He told me that I would have to pick up the food, which was fine. He didn't say if they provided butter for the rolls, if drinks were included or if salad dressing was included for the salad. I called two months before my even and talked his daughter, who told me she was the one who handles the catering for the resturant, she promised me that they would deliver, setup and serve if I needed them too, she told me that they would provide butter, salad dressing she even offered to make a pan of banana pudding because she noticed I didn't have a desert on my menu. She me an email with the total price. So, I thought everything was everthing I spoke to her several times and I thought everything would be fine. I can't tell you how many times, they asked me so what's the menu you decided on and what date was my event. smh I called back the Monday before my event which was on the coming Saturday and called the daughter and she answer and I said hello this is Deb and she said who is this and I said I have the event coming up on Saturday and all I heard was click. So I said to myself maybe we got disconnected, and called back she answered and hung right back up. Imagine how I felt with an event in 5 days for 70 people and no caterer. So I used another phone and called back, no answer, I left a vm and sent a text message, with no answer or reply. So I contacted the owner and talked to him and he said they would take care of us and the food would be ready on the day of my event, but after telling my husband what happened we decided not to use them because of their unprofessionalism and reliability that they would even come through on the day of. So I called the owner and told him that we decided to use someone else, he never asked why or offered any compensation or anything. This was a very disappointing and upsetting experience because I had to scabble and find someone at the last minute to cater my event and for this experience I can not recommend this establishment.

Omg so nasty and unsanitary my family and I were eating when another family came in with a small dog. Yuck! Even with several complaints they still did not tell the dog owner to take the dog out! So after putting the leash on the chair and petting the dog did the lady go wash her hands? HECK NO! SHE WENT STRAIGHT TO THE BUFFET! I WILL NEVER GO BACK!

Just ate there. Best description is slop. The cooked vegies were mush, however the greens were good. I chose salad. The catfish had no flavor, you must season farm raised catfish,and the chicken though fresh was greasy. Deserts were a mass of mush. Wait staff was friendly.

I've eaten at all 3 farmers. The frog legs were overlooked and I found a long hair in my frog legs. I told the waitress that didn't seem to care, I made her show management . The waitress then came back and knocked off half food and then management came over and said she told them in the back and pulled the frog legs from bar. I hope the cooks wear hairnets next time.

We paid less than 25.00 for our meal. Great Seafood !!!

Great place to go and take the whole family.

the food is terrible. we went for breakfast and ended up paying 17.00 for a couple of biscuits and gravy...that was the only thing that was edible. they need someone that knows how to cook . The eggs looked like they had adhered to the grill and they just scraped them off and refried them..they were suppose to be over medium...the bacon had a foul taste like it had spoiled and then was cooked to get rid of the spoilage. well it didnt work, the bacon was half done half cooked with a nasty taste and even worse aftertaste. the homefries was stuck to the pan so was unable to try those. i could go on and on, if anyone that eats at farmers restaurant thinks this is good clean wholesome food, they have never eaten good food before. this was disgusting and this will be the first and last time i try them.

there is much better food so dont waste your money here.



one star for atmosphere

I think this place is a second rate Cracker Barrel. The food is not quality and sometimes you can tell it's been sitting out for awhile. Will never come here again!

My family and I went there for breakfast and did not like the food at all. We would much rather go any where else in Murfreesboro to eat. My three children didn't even like the food and they eat anything. My wife got a omelette and the eggs were still running. We live in Murfreesboro and by the time we left and got to our house 4 out 5 of us were sick and running to the bathroom. We could not use the bathrooms there because they were so dirty. The only thing we liked was that the manager stands in front of everyone and says a prayer. I will never go back.

We went there for breakfast and it was ok. I really didn't see what the big deal was, it wasn't any different than Shoneys. I wish we had gone to Cracker Barrel.. Decided to go there one night for supper and just as we parked, a huge, big bus pulled up and the driver went in to see if they could get seated and they were told yes. I could not believe it! The place was already crowed, we turned around and went some where else! Don't think I'll bother going back, too many other good places to go.

Farmers Family Restaurant is AWESOME! The country style buffet has the largest offering of home cooked items anywhere in Rutherford County. All the food items tasted great. The seafood choices were delicious! We brought our entire family and had a good old fashioned fun time. The best thing is that at 5pm on Fri and Sat they stop everything to do a blessing over the dinner. It was really nice. We'll be back.

Not a good place to eat. We will not be going back. We went on a Friday evening. I got the seafood bar and everything was severely overcooked. I love catfish but it was not edible there as it was REALLY hard. I waited for a new batch of catfish but it was the same. The shrimp, hushpuppies, scallops, all were overcooked. They also have 1 bar but 2 prices. The regular bar and the more expensive seafood bar. You have to be careful to know which items on the single bar are "regular" and which are not. My wife wanted the regular bar but got some salmon which she said was terrible and sweet. The waitress said the salmon, roastbeef, and etc are part of the seafood bar and charge us for them?!?!? Those things don't come from the sea. They should call the "special items" like salmon, roastbeef, etc something else besides "seafood bar" and put the items on a physically separate bar. We complained that we didn't know and she couldn't even eat the salmon and we shouldn't but charged but they didn't care.

my son an I ate here on sunday, and the food and service were both great, we had Kim M. for a server, and could not ask for better.

I had read some bad reviews for this resturant, and all I can say is that they must have been confused.

This place should be shut down, poor health ratings, bad service, horrible food, and the owner wants to argue if you complain. The owner has NO people skills got in my face and was yelling at me because I disliked the over-cooked, tasteless cabbage, non seasoned turnip greens, squash casserole (which wasn’t too bad)VERY undercooked hard as rocks new potatos,overcooked, tuff BBQ chicken, and cold cornbread type substance. He also stated he threw nothing away and gave it to homeless people, that is all fine and dandy but I do believe the health department regulates that sort of thing. All this and not once even offered to pick up the tab but made comments like,"If you go to McDonalds you have to pay". Wrong answer Mr. If you have a problem with food at McDonalds the manager is all over it and I have even seen them pick up the tab and give you a gift card apologetically. SAVE YOUR MONEY, THERE ARE BETTER PLACES TO EAT IN MURFREESBORO.

Oh and by the way, if you will notice every time there is a bad review for this place the very next day if not the same day there is a positive review, coincidence? I think not...Most people will not post anything about a restaurant unless it is bad and want to warn others, plus all the good reviews only have one post. Just think about it use common sense.

This is a good restaurant with variety of food and lots of desserts. There need to be more fresh fruits not can fruits. I feel the staff is probably overwork and underpaid and the owner need to respect his staff and not embarrass his staff in front of customers.

This place is awesome! I really enjoyed the chicken tenders and the salad bar, Everything else was still wonderful. can't wait to go back!!
