      The Uinta County Sheriff's Office is a nationally accredited law enforcement agency that performs crime- and traffic accidents-related investigations. It maintains search and rescue, K-9 and mounted units. The Uinta County Sheriff's Office provides services for cases related to sex offense, gun permit and registration, road accidents, child protection, and crime reporting and investigations. The office operates a dispatch center that provides information and communication services to various federal agencies in emergency situations. The Uinta County Sheriff's Office also maintains a jail that provides housing and detention facilities for convicted prisoners and detainees pending trial.
