General Info

I am Shaun Graham Founder of Shaun's Drywall. A 1985 graduate of BlackDuck High, I came to the Twin Cities due to the lack of income and boredom. After spending 5 years laboring in the concrete industry, I attended and graduated from Dunwoody Institutes. I received an Associate Degree in Architecture. Being graded on Speed, Accuracy, Quality and Cleanliness gives an edge in the drywall business .5 years of freelance carpentry brought me to the drywall field. I spent sometime practicing the art and learning the techniques from a local Drywall contractor. In 1997 my son was born and at that time I was inspired to succeed on my own. For the past ten years I have satisfied many local Remodeling Contractors. I proudly say " Exclusively Remodeling". This industry is truly rewarding and I strive to make the drywall experience pleasant. References Available Upon Request. At Shaun's Drywall. We take pride in our work and we are always striving to give our customers the finished look they are expecting. We do everything from entire remodels to spray texturing ceilings and everything in between. Give us a call we'll be glad to set an appointment up for a free estimate. There is a process to correctly install drywall. Please read and browse the photos below to see different stages from beginning to completion. First we 'hang', or install the sheets. "Sheet Rock" is a brand name, like Kleenex. Lets call it 'Rock'. Notice the screw pattern and also note the screws are set at the right depth. Not too deep, because if the paper is ripped through, the screw has done no good. That layer of paper is the structure that holds it in place. Screw guns are awesome. (Drill slingers take note.) If the screw is hanging out of the rock, that will need to be turned in. Oh my aching wrist... 1-1/4 inch screws are sufficient thank you. Yes, even for the 5/8" on the ceiling, we call the 'lid'. One of the photos shows how we take the time to veer the joints out. 'Butt' joints are those that are at the 4 foot height. The "flat' or the recessed edge is the length of the sheet. All joints are checked for imperfections and cut out with a utility knife. We refer to that as cleaning.
