I have brought my Portuguese Water Dog Jake to Eljay Kennels for nearly 12 years. I was hesitant at first to board him in a kennel; Eljay came highly recommended from fellow dog owners so I went ahead with the boarding. Whenever we arrived at Eljay, Jake would run to the front door and then barge through the swinging door and bark to get into the kennel. To me that is terrific advertising for the service that they provide. He loved every experience. The people that work there are so kind and compassionate towards all of the animals. Jake has passed on, but I have a new puppy who will soon experience the wonderful care that is given at Eljay! You must book early for those special times! I have had the misfortune of not booking early enough, or coming up with a last minute travel opportunity and have had to use other kennels on the South Shore. Did not have good experiences!!! The groomer, Holly, is terrific, and Lisa is terrific! They are a family run kennel.
