- General Info
- Rich with history, The Hotel Marblehead is the perfect place to escape for your coastal New England getaway. The Victorian home that is now our boutique Marblehead hotel was originally built by J.P. Harris in 1871, who died shortly after the construction completion. On July 10, 1872 the house was sold to Mr. Otis Roberts, a prominent shoe box manufacturer, and the home continued to change hands including to a leather merchant (Elbridge Gerry Brown and his wife Caroline) in 1880 and a local attorney (Orren Fairfield) and his wife in 1911, and then to Emma J. Fairfield in 1917.
