Nurturing Educational Environment Young World Day School provides a safe, nurturing environment where ordinary kids do extraordinary things. An experienced staff utilizes an interdisciplinary approach to learning using individual instruction, cooperative learning and small group instruction. The school includes a traditional preschool with self-contained classrooms; a transitional or traditional Kindergarten program that can be scheduled as half day or full day; a primary school for grades 1 through 5 with small, multi-grade classrooms taught by at least two teachers per classroom. The student to teacher ratio is small and our structure allows students to learn at a rate appropriate to their ability and achievement. We also offer an AMS accredited Montessori school for ages 3-5 in a bright, spacious classroom designed to support the special needs of a Montessori curriculum. Morning and afternoon extended care is available. Exceptional Core Values An outstanding reading and writing program, hands-on math and science instruction, social studies, French, Fine Arts, computer and a variety of educational enrichment programs furnishes the groundwork for a solid foundation in learning. Values such as critical thinking, creative expression and educational risk taking are promoted. Good work habits, study skills and examples of good citizenship and manners are hallmarks of our school. We support a healthy lifestyle by offering yoga for all grades, a nature trail on the property and after-school fitness training. Other enrichment programs offered on a rotating basis include science club, Sudoku, chess club, music lessons, and ecology club.
