C & R offers a wide variety of services in our paving operations. We'll pave a 5-ton driveway or a 5,000-ton parking lot. We take pride in the fact that we are the leading private paving contractor in the Lexington area. In 2005 C & R Asphalt, LLC topped the 10 million mark in sales and installed over 7.5 million square feet of asphalt. But, what we take pride in most is our quality. Without it we could not have experienced the steady annual growth we have over the years or developed the relationships we have with our customers. Driveways PAVING Your driveway is the first thing guests see as an important part of your landscape in complementing your home and it?s surroundings. C & R Asphalt, LLC has been installing new and overlaying existing driveways for 10 years. Our Driveways are constructed for durability, minimum maintenance and aesthetics. But no two driveways area exactly alike. We identify your specific needs and our experienced estimators will provide you with a driveway that meets your individual needs and complements your property. The basis of a driveway starts from ? the ground up, because what goes underneath is just as important as what goes on top. In new design, C & R Asphalt, LLC, ensures proper design and placement of aggregate under your asphalt, giving your driveway the best possible quality construction. On existing paved driveways, areas either side of the sidewalk and outside of the garage may have to be taken out to make a flush fit with the existing concrete. Also, any damaged areas may have to be saw cut and taken out. If the driveway has low areas, a leveling course may be needed before the surface course is installed. If the driveway is extremely damaged due to cracking or sub-base failure, the entire existing surface may have to be removed. Seal coating Asphalt Driveways need periodic maintenance of seal coating to protect their structural integrity. Excavation C & R Asphalt can perform the lightest of excavation projects to the heaviest. We have the equipment availability and range to grade 10 Cubic yards or to haul in 4000 Cubic yards and grade it to perfection. C & R Asphalt has the capability to stake and survey the area to be excavated, to ensure that the proper grade is achieved. Patching Saw Cut Removal, Infrared, Skin Patching, Key Way Patching As long as there is Asphalt, there will be a need to patch it. C & R offers any and all forms of patch work. We were the 1st (and to our knowledge, still the only) company in Lexington to offer Infrared Patching technology. Sealcoat, Crackfilling & Striping Save Money - Reduce Maintenance - Protect Your Investment Curbing C & R Asphalt offers several types of curbing. Curb and Gutter, Header Curb, Extruded Concrete Curb, Extruded Asphalt Curb Snow Removal Slips and falls are a property owners or managers nightmare. Reduce your risk by using C & R's quality snow and ice removal team. While we can't eliminate poor weather conditions and slick pavement, we can increase traction and reduce falls. Our snow and ice removal team includes: 7 dispatched plow trucks, 2 Bob Cats, a grader, a back hoe, and 3 salt (or chemical deicer) trucks with V hoppers and spreaders. Concrete Typically, C & R Asphalt limits its concrete work to Dumpster Pads, Sidewalks, and Curbing. However, we are also capable of tackling much larger projects. This capability was displayed in the 2000 season when we excavated, graded, installed 3" of DGA base, and poured an 8" thick 3 acre concrete pad for the City of Lexington. The pad is used for their compost and mulching process.

Business started in 1993 as a sealcoating company by 2 high school friends. They quickly added the Asphalt Paving side and also started Central Kentucky's only recycling yard for concrete/asphalt products. We are now the leading independent Asphalt/Sealcoating Contractor in Central Kentucky

Accreditation

C & R Asphalt, LLC. originated in Bryan Ohio, a small town in northwest Ohio about 40 miles from Toledo. Started by Steve Coleman and Rick Roy in 1989 (1 year after graduating from high school). The idea came from a college friend of Steve Coleman’s who sealed driveways with his younger brother in Syracuse, NY over the summers. Steve and Rick graduated from 5 gallon pails purchased at the hardware store to 55 gallon drums of concentrated sealer mixed by a 1980 model paint mixer. Steve and Rick both worked on the Ohio Turnpike during the day in road maintenance as a summer job. In the evenings and weekends, they sealed small driveways and parking lots until 1990 when Steve graduated from Pikeville College and moved to Lexington for a restaurant management position. After less than one year, Steve decided the restaurant business wasn’t for him.
