Someone at this place has stolen my email and is using it to harass me.I've had over 30000 hits from lapeers adoptable animals photosfrom different people, in three dsays. I don't any thing about this place. I live in the south, in Tenn. This has got to stop or I will take this to Facebook, or the cops

I called this shelter to see if they had roome for any cats. They tell me it depends, we can take the cats, but we can't guarantee what is going to happen to them. What a thing to hear when you really love the animals, but you can't take them with you. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone

I recently turned in a young dog at the Lapeer animal shelter. It took quite a long time for someone to help me when I was there, and they were none too friendly when they did get around to me. What shocked me the most was, how much the cost was to turn a stray dog in. I had found the dog two weeks prior to turning it in, and they told me that after 24 hours of finding the dog, I was considered the owner. I had only kept the dog so that the owner of it had a chance to get it back from me without having to go through the shelter. I had also been to the Flint animal shelter, and they don't consider you the owner until you've had the dog for a month. Also Flint only asks for a donation, whatever you can afford. At the Lapeer animal shelter it cost me 35.00 to drop of a dog there that I was only trying to help save. There was an ad in the paper, and an ad on Craig's list for the dog, so that the owner had a chance to recover the dog, and that's the only reason I kept it for two weeks.
