Autopsy and Pathology Services, P.A. provides efficient, detailed, and professional pathology services. Our pathology practice emphasizes not only forensic autopsies, but also autopsy services for hospitals, hospital based pathology practices, and for individual families. We offer a Provisional Anatomic Diagnosis Report within 48 hours. The final report on most cases is completed within 30 business days or less from the date of autopsy. Our final report includes a complete external and internal gross description, a listing of microscopic sections, and a final diagnosis and opinion. Studies can be performed for an additional fee (such as cultures, toxicology analysis, immunohistochemical stains, etc.). Blood, vitreous humor, bile, urine, head hair, and fresh liver, are routinely obtained, frozen, and stored for six months. They are available for future studies should it be necessary. Sections of major organs are preserved in formalin and stored for six months. Photographs of external and internal findings are routinely taken and maintained in our office for documentation. Histology is performed by an independent histology laboratory. Blocks, slides, and reports are saved and stored for a minimum of ten years.
