General Info
From a National Historic Landmark built in 1894, we preserve and present Northwest Montana stories! Permanent and temporary exhibits fill 22,000 square feet in our Richardsonian Romanesque facility--the oldest public building in Kalispell. Highlighting settlement of the Flathead Valley, America Indian tribes, the rise of Kalispell as an economic center, the ecology of Flathead Lake, pioneer Frank Bird Linderman, and the vanished town of Demersville, we provide a complete picture of our evolving region. School Bell Books & Gifts offers a wide selection of Montana-focused books and Montana-made gifts. Renovated classrooms in our former schoolhouse have been converted into elegant rental venues for groups and private gatherings. A variety of year-round educational programs and community events ensure that the Northwest Montana History Museum continues to be a place where history is made, and the Past Is Present. From a National Historic Landmark built in 1894, we preserve and present Northwest Montana stories!
