This is a small personable school that teaches real dancing. It's not for the flashy competitive student. Glad I found it.

This dance school is one of the best in the area. I have been to a few with my 10 yr. old daughter. We found this school to be very authentic with real ballet music in ballet classes and classic tap routines. The instructors are nice and they give alot of attention to the kids. The recital is fun and only about two hours. Some other schools have long recitals or none at all. We inquired last year at a place that only offered a performance workshop and no recital. It was a scam because although they tried the no recital gimmick, you had to pay to attend the work shop (on week ends) then you had to buy tickets for the show and pay for extra practice. We are satisfied at Shore Ballet for many reasons and I highly recommends it.

My 4-yr-old daughter took a summer class here and I thought her teacher (Ms. Star) was fantastic. My daughter really enjoyed the class. Ms. Star is great with the kids. The only downsides for me were that my 2-yr-old son (who I often had to bring along) could not watch her perform (the viewing window was small and high-up...but at least they had that, some schools don't even have that). So, he was very difficult to manage for the length of the class. Also, the waiting area is very crowded, crampt, and hot if there are a lot of parents there. Prior to trying out the summer session, we attended their end of the year performance. It was kind of disappointing that many of the 4-year-old classes had extremley limited routines, not much more than toe-tapping in one spot for some of the tap dancing classes. Of course they were adorable, but it was awkward that there wasn't much else included in the routine to show what the kids have accomplished through the year.
