General Info: Emmis Publishing Division is owned by Emmis Communications. The publishing company was created in 1988 with the purchase of Indianapolis Monthly, which produces award-winning regional and specialty magazines, such as Atlanta, Cincinnati, Texas Monthly, Los Angeles and Country Sampler. Emmis Publishing also operates Emmis Publishing National Sales a publisher s representative firm. Emmis Communications went public in 1994. It owns and operates radio stations in the nation s largest markets, including four in New York City, two in Los Angeles and one in Chicago. Emmis Communications also entered the television business in 1998 with the creation of Emmis Television, which operates 15 stations. Emmis Publishing maintains operations in Indianapolis.
