Just moving to the island, my husband and I both needed to get our hair braided. We called several locations in Honolulu and either the prices were WAY too high, the business closed too early, or both! We called Ms. Michelle at Braids on the Beach and she was able to accommodate our needs with a price that was within our budget. He got a full head cornrow style (designer) and I got the top half of my hair braided and both heads were less than $100. (Which is a great price for Oahu, Waikiki none the less!!) We were VERY satisfied with the work that she had done and by husband kept his braids in for 3 weeks and I kept mine for 2 weeks. He really didn't need to get them done again when he went back, but the vanity in him made him go. LOL. The braids were done tightly, but not too tight to leave those little "red/white bumps" on the hairline. I would recommend this shop to ANYONE who was looking to get their hair braided. She does various styles, the only exception being micros.
