Worst food ever, incompetent a...

Worst food ever, incompetent and rude staff. We will never eat there again! My husband and I stopped by LJS on a Tuesday around 4pm. Ordering a lobster bites basket and a garlic shrimp scampi grill meal. Upon arriving at the window I asked if they had a nutrition pamphlet. The young Hispanic female employee, in broken English said she would have to ask the manager. After about ten minutes she returns to the window, "Oh, we are out of the sides for the grill meal, can we double up on the corn and cole slaw". I said no, but my husband said yes just to get out of there. Another five or so minutes pass, the manager walks out the front, and around the parking lot, then behind our car to go to the back of the store. I think he sensed our aggravation so he walked the perimeter of the lot to avoid conversation. After a total of about 18 minutes we got our meals, all packed together in a huge bag for two meals mind you. I asked again about the nutrition pamphlet and the employee giggled and said no. Aggravated with her professionalism I asked my husband to check the meals while I was driving. He found the meals a mess, food was just thrown in the containers, the lobster bites were burnt, and the fries were cold. The scampi sauce had drained into the bag and into the floor of my car. I immediately got the receipt and attempted to call the store, It went to a fax machine. I tried numerous times, each time it went to fax. I got home and logged onto the LJS website where I submitted a complaint. I was given a confirmation number and a promise that they will contact me within 48 hours....nearly two weeks and no contact. I called their corporate number to get resolution, again I had to leave a message, and they claim they will contact me within 48 hours...again nearly two weeks and no contact. In conclusion, we will never go back to any LJS based on this experience. If the corporate office doesn't care about the quality of the product and the professionalism of their staff at this location, I suspect it would be the same at all. Which is a shame, I grew up going to LJS and enjoyed their meals when I didn't want to cook seafood.

Thumbs Down

The only fast food fish place left in town. Never have had good fish here. Miserable overall - including service staff. There was a place, across E.Market, that had good fried fish, and other dishes - Captain D's. Unfortunately, they left town, and the area. (One in Staunton is gone too.) My guess is that people keep coming here because they have a craving for a fish plate/basket, and want it fast. The fish sandwiches at the standard burger chains are a better bet (McD's, Wendy's, etc.). For decent fish, at a sit-down, and a big selection, go to Pano's.
