The problem with Rudy's isn't the food. The food is fine. The problem is the flies. Flies, flies everywhere. The few times we've eaten there our meal was ruined because we were constantly shooing flies. Sometimes up to 4 flies circling around you at once. My suggestion would be for Rudy's to invest in those fans at every entrance & exits to deter them being able to come in. Maybe then, we'd revisit but not until then.

Very poor experience for breakfast .scrapple in omelet was spoiled .we also ordered crab Benedict with eggs medium and had to send back because they were not done at all .still not done right when they came out a second time .reordered something different instead of omelet and they still charged full price .we have been going there for years but will not go back .

Fresh food, clean restrooms, attentive waitstaff. Felt like coming home. A perfect example of real southern hospitality!

Ive eaten there twice and both times I ordered the cheese omelette and chip beef gravy. Best chipped beef gravy ive had out so far. Waitresses are polite and service is good. I will def go back

I have only been here 3 times, but everything I have tried has been great, along with the staff and service! This is not a 4 star restaurant, it's a diner. I go in expecting mediocre food and I am pleasantly surprised!!! On a diner scale, it's a 10+!! I hear the owners can be a little abrasive, but they get the job done and I respect that! I will def go back!!!

Had one of the very best dinners one could have. Cream of crab soup was excellent, Lobster superb, seafood broiled platter fantastic. Prices very reasonable. Must try. 5 out of 5. Nicole

I don't usually get into writing reviews but i just could let this chance pass me by i have been to Rudys a number of this at different times of the day The Owners can be friendly SOMETIMES mostly i go in at night due to my late work hours at first they had a young girl as nite Manger she was arrested there on drug charges then they put there very rude nephew on as nite manger several times i had to wake him up to get service i have spoken to both Rudy and his wife about this And still he is there i just last week seen this young man get a hard on when the young ladies from the slots come in there uniforms and when he went to there table they told him they changed there mind there is a older lady that works over nite mostly weekend and her and other nephew work Tuesday nites she is always so pleasant and comes to take your order ASAP . and she is always doing something cleaning this or that why isn't she the nite manger ???? i have heard all the girls come to her and say what do i do et

I am an Asian American and I've never been so mistreated anywhere in my 26 years of life in the US. As soon as me and my bf walked in the owners wife gave us the nastiest look and hesitated to sit us and just walked back and forth a few times. The place was pretty empty and there was definitely no need for a wait. After she finally decided to sit us, she passed by all the empty tables and walked us to a table all the way in the back corner. Our waitress came by to get our drink order and as she brought us our drinks, the owners wife came by again to bring us our utensils. She then THREW the knives and forks onto our table and that is when I lost it. I stared directly at her and she simply turned around and walked away. My bf and I decided at that point to just walk out. As we were walking to our car, I spotted the lady looking at us through the glass and I politely GAVE HER THE MIDDLE FINGER. This is 2012 and we are all living in AMERICA. I understand Delaware is by far a state mainly populated by caucasians but seriously? We ended up going across the highway to Starlight Diner and had a pleasant ending to this interesting ordeal.In conclusion, RUDY'S FAMILY RESTAURANT IS RUN BY IGNORANT RACIST STAFF AND I FOR SURE WILL NEVER BE RETURNING. AND AFTER READING THE REVIEWS ON THEIR FOOD, IM GLAD WE WALKED OUT.

Had my wedding dinner here. The way the banquet room was set up for us along with our cake was FABULOUS! The service was spectacular. Big thank you to the ladies who served us! As always the food was DELICIOUS. Been here like 30 times since the place has opened and never once have I had bad service or bad food. I will continue to keep coming back. Thank you again!!! :)

I am a regular at Rudy's. That is what makes this restaurant so unique, all of the regulars! Every restaurant has a few glitches and Rudy's is no exception. A couple of the wait staff need to be replaced but overall they are great. Favorite waitresses are Laura, Kelley, Jo and Debbie, all great gals. With the owners not knowing the area and the activities that go on, sometimes the wait staff is too few and that is where the problems arise. They accomodate as quickly as they can and I think they do a great job. I have read the comments on here, keep in mind the waitresses have nothing to do with how fast the food comes out of the kitchen, I have seen them stand at the window, patiently waiting for your orders to come up. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, locasl or travelers, you will not be disappointed. The desserts are wonderful, if you have room left for any. Portions are fabulous and the chicken and dumplings, at $4.95 for all you can eat, is a "do not miss"!

Great place to eat. I have eaten here several times. Food is always good, servers are always polite. They have the best breakfast buffet I have ever seen! Prices for breakfast are low. The dinners are a bit pricey but the servings are worth the price. The inside is always clean and looks really nice!.

Foods not too bad but that's right too many foreign and am sure a lots illegal workers there. About owner very ignorant family.anyway inside nice and foods not bad.

I have been there a few times since they remodeled including this morning for breakfast. Food was good and the employees were friendly. Laura was our server and she was very attentive. Thanks Laura

some people are happy, others just go out because they are too lazy to cook for themselves and are always looking to complain. I agree Rudy's has some lousy servers, but they also have one of the best servers in the area. She works hard is always on time to work, friendly and courteous. Was disappointed when I found out she is no longer working Saturday mornings, so we've started coming on weekday mornings just so she can wait on us. Her section is always full and customers love her, we usually sit at table 28. Always prompt and fast and excellent hot food. My main complaint is the other servers seem disorganized . otherwise food is usually fast and hot.

My family has eaten there so many times we cant count them. Food is to die for. From the soups to dessert!! You would never believe food of that quality could come from a DINER. There seafood linguini, steaks, ravioli and even just a chicken sandwich are awesome. We eat there 3-4 times a week its so good! They have a handful of good waitresses. One came from Betsy Ross. They should be happy they have her. She is great. Another waitress always works the front with long hair. Dont know her name though. She ALWAYS has the orders right. Brownish red hair. And a girl named Lily waited on me the other day. She was good. The rest totally suck. They dont even make you feel welcome. Never smile. Always slow and dont care about your order. I only tip for good service. And I tip way more than I should if its excellent. I hope they keep these good waitresses and get rid of the rest. Rudy and his wife are always polite and welcoming. LOVE THE RESTAURANT GUYS>>>TRY IT OUT

We have ate there quite a few times. I think everyone from Harrington has. When you go its the same people there all the time eating. I was there again having breakfast with my dad and daughter. The food is pretty good. I refuse to have this one waitress again though. I wont even go into her section which is in the middle between rooms. All she does is complain. Never smiles. Takes her 10 minutes or longer to even come to you once you have been seated and someone else has gotten your drinks. She is very SLOW. She only had three tables when we sat down. I had her for lunch a couple times and breakfast. She will never bring your coleslaw, even when you ASK for it specifically. And she is always complaining about the help and that she doesnt make enough money. OMG SMILE. Be courteous. Give the people their orders the way they ask for them!! IF they dont let her go soon...they are going to miss out on some business. She just doesnt have the right temperament for the trade. FOOD-EXCELLENT

Went there today for my son in laws birthday dinner. Service was great. Very sweet obliging waitress. I will go back. Actually have applied for a waitstaff job there.

Delaware is looking better to us 'transplants' since Rudy's opened with superb cuisine. The owners are hospitable and the wait servers are friendly and accommodating. Thank you Rudy for paying close attention to all details. Yours will be a landmark restaurant in Delaware and most of us are highly appreciative. Excellent food, excellent service, gorgeous ambiance....good luck...
