Until I purchased 2 portable DVD/CD players aka electronic equipment I enjoyed shopping at Meijer as the associates were customer friendly. However, I had my first negative experience with an in-store electronics manager on November 30, 2014 who refused to follow the company policy that is on the back of the receipt which reads "Returns of electronic items must be made within 30 days." Both items were purchased as Christmas gifts and at the time of purchase they were the last two items on the shelf. Because I do like purchasing the "last" item available I asked the associate would their department order more of the same namely Sylvania and she was not aware of any orders forthcoming as it is getting close to Christmas. After 7-days of having the items in my possession I tried to return both unopened items but the manager refused both items because it was his "authority" to do so. However, he said that "if you just have to return the items you may do so on line." (?)
