Rude and seem like they don''t care if you buy or not. Very disappointing. A family that needs to get its act together for the sake of their business or they will lose it.Poor customer service.

Staff outdoors are usually helpful and friendly. Selection depends on what you're looking for, and when.
Staff inside the store are horrible and unfriendly. Avoid if at all possible.

I must agree with the previous comment about Primex in Glenside. I LOVE both the store and the plant selection, and have purchased more than a few things there...BUT...The workers there seem, for the most part, MISERABLE. There are some lovely folks working in the greenhouse and plant area,(the plants must help make them happier), but, inside the store, crabbiness rules the day. Oh, and the guys who hoist bales of compost into your car are great, too. generally, anyone not stuck in the building with the owners is happier. I have worked in retail situations for most of my life, and I sense here the horror of FAMILY BUSINESS SYNDROME. My most unhappy working experiences have been in working for a FAMILY-RUN BUSINESS. If you're not family, you are worse than nothing. That sense of grumpy and even cruel disrespect pervades a staff, and affects the hiring choices, as well. I truly feel for the sweet garden lovers who work there...not to mention the beautiful resident cats!

While I agree that Primex has a nice selection of plants and they are of good quality, frankly that is the only thing they have going for them. Many of their staff and managers are rude and feel they don't need to provide good customer service with a pleasant attitude because they are the only game in town. Parking is awful, and the important point is that they don't do anything about it. They have limited hours at the busiest times of the year and they are VERY expensive.

I don't need the hassle and I enjoy gardening and landscaping too much to let them ruin it for me. Every time I go there on a Saturday morning, wait 15 minutes for someone to leave so I can park, seek out a staff person (who seem to be hiding), deal with a checkout clerk that never knows the answers and never says thank you and come again, it takes away from the joy and anticipation of working in the yard and enjoying my lovely gardens. I don't need the hassle and I don't patronize businesses like this.
