General Info
Dr. Franklin also completed a fellowship program sponsored by the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA) and passed his AAOA allergy certification exam in 2006. He is one of an extremely elite group of physicians with these credentials. As a result, Dr. Franklin is capable of managing allergy and sinus problems with medical, surgical (including Balloon Sinuplasty) or immunologic (sublingual allergy drops) therapy. Additionally, Dr. Franklin can manage sleep and snoring problems both medically and surgically. Dr. Franklin received his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in 1990 and was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta Medical Honor Society. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and was graduated in 1995. During medical school, he was nominee for the Audrey Murphy Award, runner up for the Gold-headed Cane Award for patient compassion and winner of the C. Frank Webber Award for Outstanding Clinical Research. Dr. Franklin began his residency training at Louisiana State University Health Science Center at Shreveport in the specialty of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery. During residency, he was awarded the Joseph E Loewenstein House Officer Teaching Award and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He published numerous articles on various ENT topics ranging from surgical treatment of septorhinoplasty, airway management and head and neck tumor markers. Dr. Franklin successfully completed his residency in June 2002. He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy with ABMS-Board Certification in Otolaryngology. In 2012, Dr. Franklin became certified in the subspecialty of Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Franklin is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Otolaryngology.
