I honestly expected to be taken to the cleaners as it was an emergency call and someone had to come out at night. All I can say was I was pleasantly surprised. Mike performed the job quickly and effectively and I was not charged an enormous fee. My hot water heater's pilot light won't light. They said that there were two wires that lead to something on it. That something was bad and they unplugged the wires and connected the wires together, bypassing whatever it was. The pilot light did light, but went out before the water got hot and will not light again. The weekend had started, so we were without hot water all weekend. Went to Lowes and they said it was the thermocouple. I monkeyed with it and replaced it. It still won't light. I guess I'll call them again and give them another shot at it.

Charged over $500 to "repair" my hotwater heater and 18 months later it needed to be "repaired" again. This time I went someplace else.

The best plumbing service I've ever found, bar none! They show up when they promise, work quickly, and clean up thoroughly before they leave. We have used them several times over the past two years, and they've never failed us. A little pricey, but WELL WORTH it for the convenience and reliability.

From our experience, Whitehead Hancock tries to rip people off. If they give you an estimate, GET A 2nd OPINION! Both of our encounters with them, they have been extremely wrong. We were going to have a sump pump replaced (they told us it needed to be done for over $1,500), we had another plumber look at it, and he charged us $75 to fix and works great. Also had them look at an HVAC unit on another house and they said it would cost $1,000 to fix/replace, we had another contractor look at it and fix it for $280. Maybe it's just ignorance, but it appears to be they are trying to rip people off.

My husband and I use these guys whenever we need help with plumbing or heating. We have an older home and the repairmen appreciate that we are trying to save money and do some repairs ourselves.
