purchased my dress out of town, but was looking to have it altered in town. I thought I could trust a shop that is known for its gowns and alterations. WRONG! I had an appointment and arrived about 15 minutes early...I walk in and there is this young, not so friendly girl at the counter and I say "I'm a little early, but I have an appt at whatever time". She says to me "Actually, you're a lot early". Seriously? Is that any way to talk to your customers?? So that was the first strike in my book, but I decided to give them a chance despite the bad first impression. Then I have to pay a $75 out-of-store-dress fee that does not include the later price of the alterations. So I paid it, even though my wallet was well past thin. While I was waiting for my appt, the same snooty girl that gave me lip caused two nice older ladies to walk out. Instead of telling them that she could not help them with what they were looking for, she left them sitting there waiting while she wondered off to help another group of wealthier looking ladies. As the older ladies were leaving, I could hear them mumbling "she didn't even bother telling us that she couldn't help us, she just let us sit there looking dumb". The lady that helped me to the alteration part of the shop was very sweet. I told them my wedding is June 28th, however I will be leaving town for my wedding on the 25th. They tell me my dress will be done by the 24th....that would be the DAY BEFORE I have to leave. I decide to have faith and still have them do my alterations. My alterations were going to take place in two steps, therefore I would need a 2nd pinning. Two weeks go by and I hear nothing. So I call just to check on the status of my dress, and they have not touched it yet. For 2 weeks my dress has sat there, and then they tell me "give it another couple weeks and we will call you for your 2nd pinning". ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? I told the lady this seriously concerns me since they are saying my dress wont be done until the day before I leave. After giving it some thought, I decide to cancel my alterations with them altogether. I call and say to cancel my alterations and I will be picking my dress up today. So can I expect to get a refund on my $75 "fee"?? BIG FAT NOPE!! I said "ok, I expect to pay something since they DID pin me". She says well that IS the pinning fee. $75. For a 20 minute pinning session. Wow! I must be in the wrong profession!! I told them since they are refusing to give me my money back for what I call a dress storage fee of a ridiculous $75, I expect that all the pins will be in place since they are saying that is what I was charged for. I got my dress back and needless to say I still did not get my money back. I will NEVER, EVER, EVER do business with them again, nor recommend them to anyone. They are overpriced, snooty, and don't care about pleasing their customers at all.
