The Fairlawn Police Department works to preserve peace and reduce crime through the enforcement of local, state, and federal laws and ordinances. It is comprised of more than 35 full- and part-time sworn officers and personnel. The department operates an administrative services division that consists of records, secretarial and communication units. The Fairlawn Police Department maintains a field services division that has detective and patrol bureaus. It offers various community-oriented policing services, such as fingerprint identification, house checks and departmental tours, as well as conducts safety town, senior watch and speed monitoring awareness programs. The department also supports the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) program, which focuses on the prevention of illegal usage of drugs, gang activities and violent behavior. The Fairlawn Police Department is located in Fairlawn, Ohio.
