      Family-owned and operated for more than 50 years, Robinson and Thayer is as committed to building, maintaining, and improving the homes of discerning Northern Virginians as we were on day one. Our story: We were founded in Fairfax in 1959 by James L. Burton, Charles Robinson and Robert K. Thayer. Our original name was Burton, Robinson and Thayer, Inc, and our mission was "to build, construct, erect, improve, alter, repair, remodel and equip buildings, houses and structures of every kind and description". The name of the corporation was changed to Robinson and Thayer, Inc in 1962. Over the years, Robinson and Thayer has successfully completed a broad range of projects, including land development, subdivisions, custom homes, additions, renovations, office buildings and historic restorations. We have won dozens of prestigious industry awards for our projects, which can be found throughout Northern Virginia, including the Cities of Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church; the Counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun and Prince William; and the Towns of Clifton, Herndon and Vienna. We are experienced, thorough, responsive, versatile, professional, accomplished, efficient, attentive, meticulous, and respectful of our clients' goals and budgets. Company Today Should you choose to talk or do business with Robinson and Thayer, you'll work closely with me. I joined the company shortly after I graduated from the University of Virginia in 1976. Working closely with my father and his associates, I learned every aspect of the business and have had the great fortune of working closely with many clients who continue to do business with us today.
