Love the food and service, I eat here several times a month

Food was okay, waiter was very friendly and nice. However, I had problems with the menu. I didn't want a big breakfast, so I decided on the mini omelette. They had many choices for their regular omelette, but only a ham and cheese omelette for their mini omelette. I don't eat ham, so I asked the waiter if I could substitute something else, like onion, and he said sure. Then he had to come back, apologetically, and tell me he was new and he didn't know they won't make substitutions. I ended up having the mini maple (pancakes), but I really wonder why they won't do a simple substitution. It wasn't like the restaurant was packed and busy. It makes me wonder if, like Applebee's and others, their food comes to them already prepared and they just warm it up. Anyway, the owner or manager who was there was noticeably put out with the new waiter, which made it uncomfortable. Just one decor note: If it's vintage 1890's as the old photos indicate, why the obnoxious neon signs inside?

Not family friendly - despite their signage. Awful service and rude waitress. Not worth the time.
