      Founded in 1886, Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home offers a variety of care services for indigent and disabled soldiers from Pennsylvania. The agency is spread over an area of more than 100 acres. Its domiciliary care unit provides nutritional, medical and nursing care services. Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home also offers a range of ancillary therapeutic services and recreational activities. The agency provides assistance with a range of daily activities, such as eating, bathing and shaving. In addition, it maintains a 30-plus-bed Alzheimer's unit that serves veterans suffering from dementia and other-related disorders.
