      Founded in 1974, Child Abuse Prevention Services, also known as CAPS, is a nonprofit social welfare organization that specializes in child care and abuse advocacy services. It conducts various community events that focus on raising awareness about child abuse and preventive methods. The organization provides parenting tips, as well as residential and treatment services. It conducts health status assessments and operates a child and family advocacy center that investigates child abuse cases and offers crisis intervention services for victims in Elkhart County, Ind. Child Abuse Prevention Services organizes various educational seminars on topics related to child abuse date rape, domestic violence and shaken infant syndrome, and indicators and reporting procedures.
