General Info
Edmonds Church of God is an expanding church located in Edmonds, Washington, seeking to be a place of "Celebration, Encouragement, and Purpose". We are affiliated with the Church of God, with its general offices located in Anderson, Indiana. The significance of this is that historically the Church of God has embraced an inclusive, non-denominational, inter-denominational stance in which we recognize that all believers in Jesus Christ who have truly become his followers are all in one church. "Church of God" is a biblical name for his followers and is meant to represent the inclusive nature of the one church that is the "whole church". It is in no way meant to indicate any superiority over other groups of our brothers and sisters who also believe and follow our Lord. We celebrate the ministries of all Jesus Centered, Biblically based ministries by whatever name designates them.We seek to worship the Lord in "Spirit and Truth" with sound biblical messages and music that is relevant for the present culture. Our gatherings are open and casual.Increasingly, we are creating new ministries to be of practical help to our surrounding community. We offer Divorce Recovery ( DivorceCare ) and Grief Recovery ( GriefShare ), Counseling, and Home Fellowships Groups. We collect and supply school supplies for our neighborhood schools, food for the local food banks, and we prepare and serve the evening meal at the "Operation NightWatch" ministry in southeast Seattle every 1st Saturday of the month. A local chapter of "Quilter's Anonymous" meets in our building during the second week of each month, Ascension Presbyterian Church meets on Sundays, and Emerald City Basektball League uses our multipurpose room 4 days a week. We believe in being a community center and we want to find many new ways to be significant as a valuable presence in this community.
